I’m here

and running.  Consistently.  Carefully.  I’m up to 3 miles.  I’ve run outside twice and the last time left my ankle tired and a bit sore.  So I continue to be careful.  I’ve been meaning to write here, but my life is in transition and I haven’t felt like writing here.  So I haven’t.  But it’s now 2012….holy shit.  I’m hopeful that in a year I will be getting ready to journey to Orlando for my battle with Goofy (13.1 on Saturday and 26.2 on Sunday).  A lot will happen over the next 12 months.  Many miles.  Hopefully many races.  The only two I know for sure will be the half marathon in Reno in May and I’m planning on having a do-over with Tough Mudder NorCal in September…and then there will be Goofy training which will hopefully dominate my fall.  I’m planning on being part of FitBloggin’12 in September.  That was an amazing experience and I hope to repeat it and have it be better and more amazing than last year.

Tomorrow begins getting back to my Tough Mudder training.  I miss how my body functioned when it was in that shape.  I think I’ve got Bari, Ashley, and Erin on board.  There may be more, but I’m drawing a blank.  I’ve also restarted the 100 pushups app and am just finishing week 2.  I look forward to getting back the level of fitness I had when I stepped onto the Tough Mudder course back in September.

These are my 2012 goals.  To get back into my routines.  Enjoy pushing my boundaries in a safe and healthy way.  Accomplish new feats and enjoy the journey.

May Your (my) Way – Check in #1

May Your Way Challenge

Yay for the first check-in!!  It’s only been a couple of days but I have to say I’m meeting my goals and boy are my arms tired! No really!  Between the pushups and the NTC arms and the Tworkout last night, I’m hurting! But it’s a good hurt.  Though it does make me scared for doing my NTC workouts for today…which is the only thing I have on tap in the way of exercise.

In regards to my goals.

1. I have one run under my belt for the week and two more planned.

2. I’ve been working on the pushups and the NTC arm burner – and my arms burn.  IJS.

3.  I’ve been looking through the workouts on NTC to see what would be best, but I haven’t yet had the time to sit down with my travel schedule and see how it’s all going to play out.  Also? Please say a little prayer that my work doesn’t get my account up and running on the internet.  If they do, I will be working while on the road, and I’m worried about getting those couple of hours in amongst all the driving and fun and exercising I will have to be doing.  (Then again, we could use the money, so I’m so conflicted about this work thing!)

4.  I’m rethinking doing the wine country half marathon that I mentioned before.  That would include travel and money isn’t growing on trees.  I know there’s a relatively local one that’s sort of a trail run and I’ve heard it’s really pretty.  I need to find the name of that one and look into it.

I did join the group on the Hood that is going for 30 minutes of exercise for every day this month.  So far, so good.  I also participated in the first 15 minutes or so of the Sisterhood Chat on Monday and the Tworkout last night.  I’m hoping to tweet a bit with Happy Hour tomorrow night.  But they scheduled it during The Big Bang Theory.  Which is the only show I watch, and I live in the 1990s and don’t have a DVR in order to record.  So I’ll probably be around during commercials between 8-8:30.

Oh! I almost forgot! Water! I’ve been doing really well on water.  Though 64 is a lot of water for me.  If I drink that much for more than a day or two, I start to dry out as I’m flushing too much water through my system.  I’m going to aim for 48 of actual water.

Can’t wait to check in next week! Hopefully I’ll be past the soreness and moving on to getting stronger.

I’m So Excited!

We are currently getting our second winter storm in the last two weeks! Yay!!  I love winter!  (Aside from the fact that this means I get to run 8 miles on the treadmill tomorrow.)

But that’s not really why I’m excited and blogging here.  I’m excited because The Sisterhood announced the next challenge.  We get to team up for a dynamic duo.  I like having a teammate.  It mixes up the whole exercise thing.  Sorta like having a partner in crime, but instead of committing crimes, we get to be there to call each other names when we don’t follow through on our goals.  It’s like having your very own drill sergeant – but you actually *like* this drill sergeant.  And my drill sergeant is going to be Bari.  We’ve named our little duo the “Buff Brazen Bunnies”.  ‘Cuz we are hawt enough to be all three!

The Spring Into Action challenge will run from March 2nd through April 13th.  The main fitness challenge is going to be the 100 pushups challenge.  I did this on my own last year and made it through to being able to do close to 80 pushups at the end, but I sorta wussed out after that.  Though, in my defense, I was doing boy pushups, so they were extra hard.

And guess who is sponsoring this challenge? The one and only BornFit.  If you haven’t checked out their stuff, you should.  I have one of their Wilder running skirts and I luff it a lot.
